Composing Villagers 1
On March 28th 2026, around 40 villagers gathered in a living room in Zurich for the first edition of Composing Villagers — an evening built around three completely different registers sharing the same room and the same crowd.
Flavian Mèche and Mai Akahoshi opened with a classical set, Sander de Haan followed with a philosophy talk on non-dualism and consciousness, and Francisco Carneiro, Oudskul Omello, and Aurelio Espinoza closed the night with soul, jazz, and funk. In between, the room did what it was designed to do: villagers mingled.
Eduarda Streit Morsch unveiled a painting commissioned specificallyfor the occasion, later offered as limited prints to the villagers who attended.
It was a first edition in every sense, and it set the tone for what Composing Villagers is meant to be: not a show to watch from a distance, but a room where everyone present brings their own part to the moment.
